Beta 12 - Weirdo, Save/Load, Inventory, Battle UI Overhaul


Hey all, Stamos here! It's been a wacky... 17 months since the last update. A lot has happened, okay? Also, I grew up on Valve games. Point is, I'm back to working on this game! I am NOT giving up yet. 

Next update will be Imptern Overlord's time to shine, with new art and mechanics. After that, there's... wait, all the bosses will be pretty much done? Boogie Bot, Imptern, Luchador, Weirdo, and Hayato... You'll see.

THE BIG STUFF

  • New Battle UI
    • Redesigned to be as sleek as possible!
  • New Win/Lost Screens
    • At least 20% cooler.
  • Weirdo Phase 2
    • A whole new phase for Weirdo's boss fight, featuring more mechanics.
  • Saving and Loading
    • It's almost like it's a real RPG now!
  • Inventory System
    • Wow! It really is like an RPG!
    • You can use items in battle, but we only have one right now.
  • Shirt System
    • Deck Daniel and Josh (and whoever else ;) in wicked garbs!
    • You can buy shirts in the Shirt Shop app.
  • New Tutorial
    • More info, with newer screenshots.

THE MEDIUM STUFF

  • Loading screen tips
    • There's some goodies in there.
  • Dialogue updates
  • New Battle Power Bar
  • Beatmap updates:
    • Flight
    • Shred
    • Nestsick
    • Weirdo

THE LITTLE STUFF

  • New input button prompts, courtesy of KenneyNL
  • Moved over to using Addressables, should be lower memory usage 
  • Fix Daniel being unable to ride an elevator correctly
  • Fix Conductor Song Info UI not showing over Battle UI
  • Made a death animation more rare
  • Optimized Daniel House with new LODs
  • A shit ton of bug fixes and little stuff that I don't wanna copy paste from GitHub luh-mow
